I know a few of my acquaintances who are so into nail art but I think it adds plus points to make our hands prettier. I only put nail polish on my nails and sometimes I also think of adding some vibrant designs on them but I'm not very sure if I can pull them off.

>>> First post by janejinx on 03-Sep-10 7:58 AM

Have you ever tried putting on different nail colors and designs? I think it's cool. My friend and I tried it once and I decided to put some pink flowers on and it really looked great. But I think my friend's nails were really gorgeous since they were long and sleek while mine were shorter. Anyways, feel free to share with us here some pictures of your nails with some awesome styles :)

Makeup, Beauty and Styling - Bronzer or blush?

Posts: 11 Views: 430

>>> Last post by marilynjacobs on 26-Aug-10 4:13 AM

Using blush and bronzer depends on what skin tone you have. Personally, I can use both since I'm not that fair and somehow tanned. I love the effect when I use both. The blush gives my skin that accent and the bronzer complements it too.

>>> First post by southca on 05-Nov-09 3:24 PM

when trying to accent your cheeck bones (my are pretty defined already:) do you think that blush or a hint of bronzer works better?

Makeup, Beauty and Styling - What do you think about fake lashes?

I really wasn't interested about using fake lashes but it was my last resort I guess. I've been using fake lashes since I started working and I think it's quite useful and it really flatters my eyes. I've also tried those Shu Uemura lashes and I find it very necessary since it doesn't really look fake at all.

>>> First post by alishop on 16-Nov-09 3:07 AM

I love Shu Uemura fake lashes. Every celeb would probably not be caught on camera without them. I know they make for really emphasized eyes but do they look well even on regular people without looking ridiculous or trying too hard?

Maybe it's ok to share with friends if I don't have sensitive skin? I've heard that to clean eyeshadow, I just need to sprinkle a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the top layer and wait for it to dry. That way all the germs are killed.

I was tod this about my favorite Chanel eyeliner, but it turns out I can still get it at most other stores! They might be just changing up their specific inventory.

>>> First post by nycity09 on 17-Jan-10 6:16 PM

I was told by the lady at the Chanel counter that my favorite powder was discontinued. Most often, I skip the foundation altogether.

My friends say I should wear more makeup, but I don't want my skin to suffer! It sounds so interesting... I love makeup that apply well and does other things aside from bringing color to the face. I wonder how it works.
Makeup, Beauty and Styling - What is one beauty product you cannot live without?

Something mascara and eyeliner and concealer won't do. You can go from an informal look to a formal look quickly and easily by just applying lipstick!

Its the one makeup I can't live without!

>>> First post by alishop on 14-Nov-09 12:42 AM

What is one beauty product you cannot live without? For me it would have to be a tie between Olay Total Effects spf Moisturizer and Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. Olay Total Effects has 7 Anti-aging treatments in one bottle, it has line minimization effects, nourishing moisturization, tone enhancement, gentle exfoliation, pore refinement, free radical defense and hydrates for firmer skin appearance. The cleansing oil is so gentle but cleans my face thoroughly. It leaves my skin even toned and smooth and hydrated.

The actually show of the tan and dark colours are good for winters but I use all colours all colours in all seasons be it summer, spring, winter or autumn. It just depends on my mood.

>>> First post by alishop on 14-Nov-09 2:45 AM

They say the hands tell the real age of a person. I agree, especially at this day and age of botox and plastic surgery. I guess it also tells so much more about a person, not only about the person's age. I was looking at the photo of Sarah Jessica Parker's hands and I was stunned. But it is not something I take against her. I believe that those are hardworking hands. Angelina Jolie's hands are pretty too but they are "veiny" as well. What are the best products and way to care for the hands to keep it from aging and wrinkling rapidly?

Makeup, Beauty and Styling - Keratin Complex

Posts: 3 Views: 76

>>> Last post by plr16 on 23-Nov-09 7:54 PM

Some keratin formulas use formadlehyde, others do not. For a formaldehyde free treatment, try Keratin Complex by Coppola. I fugred if my hair dress and all of the other women who worked at the salon were willing to try it (and my hair dresser's young daughter) on their own hair, it had to be pretty safe. My hairdresser also had been completely against me getting other straighteners, such as Japanese. I'm glad I listened to her on that one!

>>> First post by plr16 on 22-Nov-09 8:24 PM

Has anyone else had Keratine Complex Straightening? I have naturally wavy hair and had Keratin straightening last July and will be getting it again this week. My initial experience with it has been great, especially since I've heard that it works better the second time for virgin hair.

So does anyone else have any experience with keratin, positive or negative?

Makeup, Beauty and Styling - Nail Colours of the Season

It has become dull and boring. Change is the essence of life. Variety is what we need. Hence for now, I would like to go with short and dark colour nails. It makes one look smart and sexy, at the same time prim and proper.

>>> First post by alishop on 09-Nov-09 5:30 AM

What are the “in” nail colours of the season? French tips are definitely out, right? I am open for any ideas, bright, pastel, dark or what have you. And how about the cut and length? Square? Long or short? I prefer classy options please.

This colour is highly in demand even among the celebs. I have a light complexion and I go for dark lip colours. Magenta, violet, blood red, rose red etc. are my other favourites.

>>> First post by ladydi on 10-Nov-09 1:39 AM

Women mostly have trouble with choosing the right lip colour. Women with darker skin tones should choose a one tone lighter lipcolour, wheras women with lighter skin tones should go for darker hues. Specially if one is going out at night than the person should go for something that is dark,glittery and glossy. It also depends on the occasion as to what lipcolour one should wear.
