An Interview with Lexy of Quirky Explosion
Lalala, I'm just singing, all merry and joyous and -- OH HI THERE, new friends! The name is Lexy and I'm the head honcho over at QUIRKY EXPLOSION. My blog is an accumulation of bright colours, and tacky patterns, and doodles, and DIYs, and other attempts at creative endeavors. I guess I'm allowed to shamelessly promote myself... so check me (or, more accurately, my blog) out to discover more goodies!
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Lexy: I'm a high school student. So, you know, high school student-y things. I enjoy creating things and traveling and exploring and pretending to be a unicorn.
How would you describe your personal style?
Lexy: If people could vomit rainbows and obnoxious patterns...
What is your nerdiest hobby?
Lexy: I design pacman tattoos on a regular basis. I'm at, like, forty right now. I think they'll be a hit. My favourite is when I dress him up as a Jersey Shore character. No, I'm totally kidding. Hahah (I think I'm funny.) I'm just an all around cool cat! 2kewl4skewl. Well, I enjoy math contests...
What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?
Lexy: Have fun! "People will stare...make it worth their while." - Harry Winston
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Lexy: My blazer collection, my tights collection, my headband collection (I think I'm cheating, but shh.)
What is your favorite dessert?
Lexy: AH SO MANY. And by that, I really mean ANYTHING. I have an unhealthy love for desserts.
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Lexy: Thrift stores/ old people stores are the way to be. I love Value Village, Salvation Army, etc. You have to be patient, but you can find a lot of rad stuff for good prices. Also, I'm a total dork and I subscribe to Value Village's newsletter so I'm totally in the know regarding their 50% off sales!
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Lexy: A "WTF IS SHE WEARING?!?!" piece.
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Lexy: I have a hardy party (that almost rhymed) of blazers that I seam to wear over and over and over and over again.
4 things you can't live without:
Lexy: 1. Family & Friends, 2. Creativity, 3. Exploring & Learning, 4. Passion
