An Interview with Reiko of God's Favorite Shoes

Don't you want to know which pair of shoes will get you a free pass into heaven? I do! So, I keep buying shoes until I feel that they are the chosen ones...God's Favorite Shoes! God's Favorite Shoes is my personal style blog. You will find my ramblings about style, shoes, fashion and life in between. I'm not an expert but you don't know that :)

This interview was published on Monday, February 28, 2011.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Reiko: I'm a middle school teacher and professional daydreamer.

How would you describe your personal style?

Reiko: I would have to say that it's classic with an eclectic twist. Atleast that's what I strive to be. It's evolved over time though.

Which label dominates your closet?

Reiko: I can't say any one label dominates my closet. I'm more of a thrifter. I have a hodge podge of items.

Who is/are your favorite shoe designer(s)?

Reiko: I'd have to say I'm pretty partial to Pour La Victoire and L.A.M.B. shoes.

What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?

Reiko: Don't dress like someone else. It's okay to be inspired but find your own style and work it! One more tip...don't buy designer items just because of the name. There is nothing worse than a designer item that looks like Skeletor from He-Man created it. Just saying...

What is your fantasy splurge?

Reiko: Ooooh that's easy...the Gressimo Gingham Knot Pumps. I'm taking donations!

Three things in your closet you cannot live without:

Reiko: My black pencil skirt, my thrifted tuxedo Jacket and my Pour La Victoire "Irina" pumps.

Great fashion steal:

Reiko: I once bought a L.A.M.B. satchel at Goodwill. That was a good day...hence the name Goodwill I suppose.

How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?

Reiko: I do thrift for vintage pieces but I stay away from costumes. I invest in shoes and I keep the trends to a minimum.

In your opinion, every woman should own:

Reiko: Spanx, hoop earrings and a gun... or a bible (No judgement)
