An Interview with Jess of Stylepint

My name is Jess and I'm a personal style petite blogger for Stylepint. My blog covers petite fashion, product reviews, designer interviews, SF fashion events, and more. Stop by and say hello!

This interview was published on Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Jess: I have an Electrical Engineering background and I work in the alternative energy industry.

Three things in your closet you cannot live without:

Jess: My Madewell draped jacket, Theory trousers, and RayBan Wayfarers.

What label(s)/store(s) do you favor?

Jess: Madewell. Everything else is a mix from thrift stores, boutiques, and other stores.

3 fun facts about you:

Jess: I like watching obscure indie films or French foreign films because they're unpredictable. I once wrote a screenplay in the hopes that I would become a screenwriter, but I never let anyone read it, so obviously that was a fail. And if I never have to worry about money, I'd be the town breadmaker.

Favorite item of clothing in your closet:

Jess: Currently, I'm in love with my vintage thrifted pencil skirt. It goes with everything and the fit is impeccable.

Biggest style splurge and/or deal:

Jess: Biggest splurge: The Row lace dress for $250 / Biggest deal: a thrifted silk blouse for $0.50 and a fully lined wool skirt for $2.

How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?

Jess: I try to limit how many trendy items I buy a season and focus on quality and fit. Accessories can update an outfit easily without costing a fortune. Also, I like to thrift for pencil skirts and silk blouses that never go out of style.

One trend you would like to never see again is:

Jess: 80's power shoulders. Who wants to look like a linebacker all the time?

What 5 items do you always have in your purse?

Jess: My keys, phone, wallet, a notepad and a pen. You never know when inspiration strikes!

What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?

Jess: I love a great pair of slimming jeans, Theory trousers, billowy blouses, colorful cardigans, and chunky statement accessories.
