An Interview with Ana of Toil & Trouble
Hi Smashion, I'm Ana from Toil & Trouble. My blog started out as a complement to my accessories shop on Etsy, but evolved to become a journal of my style. I struggled to find time for myself while I was finishing grad school, and my blog became a way to explore who I was in a visual language. I just graduated in January 2011, and I'm excited to see how my blog will continue to grow!
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Ana: I'm a designer at an architectural firm and a grad student
How did you come up with your blog name?
Ana: My blog is named after my Etsy shop, Toil & Trouble. A friend and I came up with it, with an obvious appreciation for Shakespeare.
How would you describe your personal style?
Ana: evolving, multifaceted, and subject to flights of whimsy.
What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?
Ana: If it makes you feel amazing, wear it.
Who are your favourite bloggers we don't know about?
Ana: I love Orchids in Buttonholes and Off of Broadway.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Ana: I live north of Boston right now. If I have money, Urban Outfitters. Ann Taylor Loft and Modern Millie in Salem
3 fun facts about you:
Ana: I teach martial arts, I sell knitting on Etsy, and I was born in Brazil
What are you currently grooving to?
Ana: Silversun Pickups
What are you wearing right now?
Ana: A gray wool bell skirt, maroon tights and a light grey cocoon sweater.
Great fashion steal:
Ana: I think Shop Ruche has great pieces for their prices.
