An Interview with Melissa of Miss Melissa

Hi, I'm Melissa from the blog, Miss Melissa. I'm a sarcastic optimist with a love for life and style! I hope you enjoy learning a little about me and get a chance to stop by my blog!

This interview was published on Wednesday, December 08, 2010.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Melissa: I work for McDonalds Restaurants. I am the restaurant manager of 2 stores and I also teach a management class for the head office.

How would you describe your personal style?

Melissa: It's all over the place but almost always a little bit girly.

Which label dominates your closet?

Melissa: To be honest there isn't one. If I love a piece of clothing the label doesn't matter which has resulted in a really varied wardrobe!

What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?

Melissa: Be confident! If you love something wear it with confidence! Something I have to remind myself of sometimes.

What is your fantasy splurge?

Melissa: My fantasy splurge probably changes on a monthly basis but right now there is a dress by DSquared2 that I would loooove to wear on New Years.

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Melissa: I live in Vancouver. It would be impossible to narrow my favourite places to shop down to three, I love so many! So my top 3 places to shop in Vancouver (that I don't believe you can find in any other city) are Deluxe Junk (vintage), True Value Vintage and Barefoot Contessa.

Three things in your closet you cannot live without:

Melissa: My nude pumps from Banana Republic, my skinny jeans from True Value Vintage and my favourite little black dress.

3 fun facts about you:

Melissa: 1) I can stand on my head for a really really long time. 2) I sing (well I try) and I used to sing the national anthem at hockey games. 3) Even though i'm extremely clumsy I have yet to break a bone (knock on wood)

What are you wearing right now?

Melissa: Skinny jeans, a white American Apparel tee, a ruffled cardigan and slippers (i'm at home and it's chilly haha)

Great fashion steal:

Melissa: My greatest fashion steal is a black and white dress I found on sale for $20 at RW&Co. It's the most flattering dress and i've worn it a ton.
