What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Angeline: I am a communications manager and magazine editor at a California nonprofit.

How did you come up with your blog name?

Angeline: I knew I wanted my blog name to be tied to my blog's theme, and since I am a relative newbie to the working world (about four years out of grad school), I chose The New Professional.

How would you describe your personal style?

Angeline: Classic, comfortable, and low maintenance.

Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?

Angeline: I've always been drawn to Jennifer Aniston's minimalist style, as well as all-American designers like Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. For daily wear, though, it's often fellow fashion bloggers or just random stylish people I see on the street.

What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?

Angeline: Dress for your body, not someone else's or society's ideal.

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Angeline: I grew up in La Palma, California, but now reside in Davis, just outside of Sacramento. In the Sacramento area my favorite shopping places would be Bows and Arrows Vintage, Ross, and the outlets (we have two). I've been meaning to check out more vintage shops, though, since we have quite a few!

Who are your favorite bloggers we don't know about?

Angeline: Some of my favorite fashion blogs are Miss Vinyl Ahoy, Pixie in Pumps, Third Floor Closet, Cubicle Chic, Ashley Getting Dressed, Style Underdog, and Academichic. Some are more well-known than others, but they all rock!

3 fun facts about you:

Angeline: I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan (I was Marion Barber for Halloween this year). I've lived in three states (CA, TX, and NY). I love brussel sprouts.

Angeline: Nickel Creek, Mxpx, and Led Zeppelin.

What is the worst job you've ever had?

Angeline: When I was 19 I had a summer internship at a really small environmental planning firm. So small they didn't have regular hours or a desk, computer, or Internet for me. I was told to work from home whenever (my boss was often out of town or unreachable), which was a disaster. My bad.

What is your favorite dessert?

Angeline: Hmm...that's hard. I love dessert. My current fixation is soft serve ice cream, but I love cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, ice cream, and frozen yogurt, too.

Favorite item of clothing in your closet:

Angeline: My puffy down jacket with faux fur trim on the hood. It's cold out here!

Great fashion steal:

Angeline: I got a brown suit in a classic cut from the Ann Taylor outlet for $40 once! It was on sale and I had a friends and family coupon. That or my leather H&M satchel that was $45 (not marked down a ton, but still a great deal for real leather).
