An Interview with Demi of Scream
Hi! My name is Demi van Maanen. I'm 17 years old and I'm the owner of Scream a personal fashionblog. I'm a fashion blogger, student and life lover from the Netherlands. The way I dress depends on my mood. I’d rather say that my personal style is a fusion of elements from other styles. I like to make combinations my own. I'm always blogging about fashion example my looks, events and inspirations.
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Demi: I'm going to school 5 days a week I'm study TMO fashion business school and work on Saturday besides that I'm dancing and play hockey. I also spend a lot of time with my friends.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Demi: From the Nehterlands and live in a small place in the middle. Unfortunately not Amsterdam but I'm there always when I'm going to shop or going out its really the best place. The second best place for shopping is Utrecht. The third best place for shopping is Rotterdam because of their big stores.
What do you think it means to have a personal style?
Demi: I think it really means a lot because you can tell with your clothing what kind of person you are its like showing your personality through clothing. I'm always say be different, yourself, think out of the box and don't follow the crowd
Are there any style icons that inspire you? Who and how?
Demi: Not really one person because a lot of fashion bloggers inspires me but also the looks on lookbook, magazines and fashionshows inspires me. I constantly browse the internet for inspiration besides that i also like to observing other people on the streets.
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Demi: When I’m going to shop I love to spend less money and have much clothing so I can more combine with all my clothing. I prefer shop a lot times than one time for a lot of money. I don't have favorite stores because I like to shop everywhere example: Monki, Zara, Second hand stores and small boutiques
Do you keep your older clothes or do you like to keep your closet small and organized?
Demi: Some old clothes I keep and when I didn't see them a long time a find them again I have sometimes ideas how I can refurbish my old clothing. My closet is quite organized jackets by jackets, shorts by shorts blouses by blouses but not on color.
Your most worn shoes:
Demi: Absolutely my first creepers from Monki. I never thought that creepers are so comfortable and makes your outfit so funky. After I realized that creepers are perfect for me I bought 4 pair of creepers more I can't life without all of them!
Your most worn piece of jewelry:
Demi: Pretty hard question because I switch jewelry every day and never wear something always or often. But if I really have to choose I'm going to choose my metal rings from h&m. I have them in two colors in gold and silver they are really basic but they suits every outfit and makes your look complete!
What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?
Demi: The oldest thing I'm wearing today is my second hand Levi short I have still fun from it and it fits everything there is not really a special story behind it but it's the first garment that I bought at a second hand store after that I really love the vintage look and bought a lot of more vintage.
Are you a shy or outgoing person? How does fashion help you express yourself, and in what way?
Demi: I'm more an outgoing person and that express me in the way that I'm not scared to wear fashion.
What are some of your passions and hobbies?
Demi: My passion is off course fashion and I hope that I could be a full time fashionblogger and freelance stylist about 1 or 2 years. Besides that I would like to travel for one year prefer new york but I also like london or milan. My biggest hobby is my fashionblog with so much nice experiences.
