An Interview with Sarah of Simply Sarah
Hi lovelies! I'm Sarah from the fashion blog Simply Sarah, and I'm all about maximum fashion on minimum dough. Like most women I have eyes that are bigger than the $$ in my wallet for the hottest trends, so through my blog I've shown how to put together pieces on a budget through thrifting where to budget shop! I also have a few series on my blog, particularly about professional wear and working women, so be sure to check it out! My blog is sarahsavvystyle.com - thanks for reading!
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Sarah: I work in Student Activities on a college campus! I plan major events, I help students to build their leadership skills, and a lot of my job entails planning and the programs and putting the LIFE into campus! Besides work, I like to hang out at home with my Mr. and our puppy silky terrier Zoe.
What is your nerdiest hobby?
Sarah: I love to read - I spend a lot of time in the local library, believe it or not. I also am obsessed with Pinterest but I wouldn't say that's nerdy.
What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?
Sarah: Thrift Thrift Thrift. It kills me to see women spend, literally, hundreds of dollars on clothes/accessories when I'll go to the local Goodwill and find nearly the same item (and sometimes it IS the same item!) for almost 80-90% cheaper! I have a full closet and options because I spend less overall
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Sarah: Blazers, Black Pumps, Colored skinny belts
Do you have a favorite fashion era? What did you love about it?
Sarah: I do love anything 80's related - I wear a lot of blazers and I am loving the neon trend so I'm a true eighties baby at heart. I also LOVE Madonna, and 80's rock bands so those two things really inspire my style.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Sarah: A dress they feel sexy in, a good pair of black pumps, a classy blazer for dressing up or down, a comfortable pair of flats, and a pair of "skinny jeans" that make you feel like a million bucks whenever you pull them on! I also like to have a good bag on my shoulder to finish off the look.
One trend you would like to never see again is:
Sarah: See-through leggings. Girls, they're not pants.
4 things you can't live without:
Sarah: Shopping, Upbeat Music, a Good Night's Rest, My Family!
On the first day of hot weather, you'll find me:
Sarah: Either laying out in the sun by the pool, or out doing something adventurous. I don't mind warm weather but I feel guilty sitting inside on nice days so I like to get out, go for a walk, drive around, go camping, and of course get an ice cream to cool down.
Three things that are always in my fridge:
Sarah: Wine, cheese, and apples!
What's your latest obsession?
Sarah: Lately I'm obsessed with anything nautical themed! I love the combinations of navy blue and white, I think they're so classy together.
My favorite moment of the day:
Sarah: One is when I get another follower to my blog - it still amazes me (and makes me feel truly honored) that people would be interested enough to follow! The second is cuddling up with the Mr. and our pup Zoe, while she sleeps in our lap...nothing says perfection like that final moment of the day!
