An Interview with Rachel of The Autumn Castle
I'm Rachel. I'm 25 years old and I live in the inner west of Sydney with my boyfriend and our cat Lolly. This is my little fashion and lifestyle blog. I'm a legal secretary by day, an arts student by night, and on the weekends you can usually find me at various restaurants and bars around Sydney with friends. I started The Autumn Castle in November 2010. It started off as just a way to chronicle my shopping addiction, and it's just grown from there! I love fashion (obviously), nail polish, books, travel and photography.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Rachel: I'm a legal secretary in a mid-tier firm. I'm also studying an Arts degree part-time.
How did you come up with your blog name?
Rachel: It's actually the name of one my favourite books. I was starting at my bookshelf trying to think of blog titles and it jumped out at me.
How would you describe your personal style?
Rachel: It's changed a lot over the past year, I'd say quite classic with a bit of an alternative edge.
What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?
Rachel: Shop online, the amount of amazing things available online compared to in-store is incredible. Plus it's usually so much cheaper.
What are you currently grooving to?
Rachel: Dubstep.
What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?
Rachel: I tend to save money on more trend-based items that I know I won't be wearing forever. I like to splurge on things I'll wear often and for a long time, like jeans, shoes, bags, coats, etc.
4 things you can't live without:
Rachel: My iPhone, my DSLR camera, my Kindle and...my boyfriend, if he counts :)
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Rachel: Pizza and cider on Sunday nights.
On the first day of hot weather, you'll find me:
Rachel: Wearing a brightly-coloured sundress, hopefully at the beach.
People would be surprised to know that I...
Rachel: Have 5 piercings.
What's your latest obsession?
Rachel: Jeans. The amount of jeans I've bought lately is embarrassing. I think I now have them in every colour.
What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?
Rachel: The oldest thing is probably my Hermes clic clac. I bought it in New York on my 23rd birthday 2 years ago, so it's very special to me.
