An Interview with Natasha of Natasha Fatah blog

I'm a style blogger based in Toronto, dedicated to celebrating style, beauty, art and joy all around me. My blog is about adventures and mis-adventures in fashion and style, the hits and the misses, understanding what inspires my choices, and it's a creative outlet where I get to paint myself every single day.

This interview was published on Friday, May 04, 2012.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Natasha: I'm a journalist.

How would you describe your personal style?

Natasha: Very eclectic, I try to incorporate pieces from all over the world, old and new, lots of colour and texture. I like to express joy and play in my clothing.

3 fun facts about you:

Natasha: 1. Have eaten the same breakfast for more than 10 years - peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a cup of tea. 2. Really, really, really want to live in New York City, even if just for a few months. 3. I always thought I could make a decent wage doing cartoon voices.

What are you currently grooving to?

Natasha: The Civil Wars and Buraka Som Sistema - told you I like to keep it eclectic.

Biggest style splurge and/or deal:

Natasha: Splurge: I bought a Calvin Klein winter coat ages ago, when I was still in undergrad, it was a pretty pricey investment for me, but I still have it. Best deal: A brand new, never worn, but thrifted a Emanuel Ungaro Blazer for $10.

In your opinion, every woman should own:

Natasha: Red Lipstick to perk your face up when you're tired; awesome dance music when your spirit is low; lots of fun jewelry and hand me downs from the wonderful women in her family.

One trend you would like to never see again is:

Natasha: Uggs are ugh.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Natasha: So many, I watch a lot of fun TV, I love thrifting, eating sweets.

If you could go on a road trip with any person (dead or alive), who would you choose and where would you go?

Natasha: If it could only be a road trip, then I guess I'd like to go to the Grand Canyon, or drive all the way to Mexico City, my favourite place on the planet. And even though it's corny, I'd like to go with my husband Chris, he's the best travel partner in the world.

What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?

Natasha: Sitting somewhere in the middle of the city and people watching...and then coming up with stories to match the characters I see rolling by.

Three things that are always in my fridge:

Natasha: Vanilla Soy Milk Strawberry Jam Yogurt - Plain, Low Fat, High Fat, Fruity, Greek.

What is your favorite thing to do on a lazy Sunday?

Natasha: Lazing around on the couch, with a blanket, watching a good movie, with the laptop close by to check my favourite blogs....and a piece of cake should be close by.
