An Interview with Kristel of en la moda
Kristel Louisa is an 18 year old fashion student from Indonesia, and she is currently working at WhatIWear.com.
"I am a fashionist." That was the thought which brought her to the purpose of opening en la moda. She has a huge passion for fashion and she loves writing about it; that's what her blog is simply all about.
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Kristel: I am a fashion student. I'm studying fashion marketing and merchandising. I'm also currently working at WhatIWear.com. That's pretty much what I do besides blogging.
How would you describe your personal style?
Kristel: I don't have any specific style. One thing I know for sure is that I am bit of tomboy and it's clearly shown through my style (since I was a little girl!); but I can also be feminine if I want to! I'm mostly influenced by the latest trends and some bloggers and mix it with my personal style.
What is your nerdiest hobby?
Kristel: Scrapbooking! Pretty papers. Everything related to it. I can't resist walking through scrapbook stores without coming in and I'm really good at spending hours and hours in the stores. Well... aside from clothing stores, obviously.
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Kristel: Marc by Marc Jacobs tote (my go-to-go bag), Zara black wedges (they go well with everything!), my new mint denim jeans (mint is totally the color of the season!)
What are you currently grooving to?
Kristel: Don't have a current favorite, but I've been playing Lifehouse and 3 Doors Down lately.
Are there any style icons that inspire you? Who and how?
Kristel: Definitely Alexa Chung. Her style has an effortless vibe which I totally admire. I love the way she layers some pieces stylishly. She mixes things that people wouldn't expect before and always nails it. Somehow her style looks easy to try but in real life, it's not.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Kristel: New arrivals displayed all over the stores! New color trend, most talked about prints of the season. Just irresistible.
Do you have any comfort foods and what memories do you have associated with them?
Kristel: I don't really have any comfort foods, but one thing I always remember is my grandma had once cooked Chinese traditional herbal chicken medicine soup and scolded me and my brother if we didn't want to eat it!
People would be surprised to know that I...
Kristel: I'm still keeping my super secret love poems about my old crush back then in primary school! Geez, I can't believe that happened!
I am passionate about:
Kristel: Fashion, new trends, art, photography, writing, and music. They somehow related to each other!
What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?
Kristel: What a coincidence! I was wearing my mom's vintage pleated mid skirt all day. This skirt has been mine since my mom gave it to me about 1 or 2 months ago. Fun fact: she never wears it in her entire life, not even once!
List three foods you ate today:
Kristel: Japanese ramen for breakfast, a piece of mushroom and sausage quiche for supper, a bowl of chicken noodles for dinner. Yum?
