An Interview with Jessica of Hapa Time

Hi, I’m Jessica from Hapa Time! I’m a 25 year old “hapa” living in the Bay Area of California with 3 lovely sisters and the cutest Yorkie! I am an artist and a perfectionist at heart. Fashion has always been a love of mine, though becoming a blogger has really stimulated my style! My favorite season is summer so you can sure bet I have a lot of great summer looks coming up, please come visit my blog and say hello :]

This interview was published on Friday, March 02, 2012.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Jessica: I'm a graphic artist/web editor. I work full time, and in addition to that and blogging, I draw/paint, exercise, cook, shop and honestly don't remember the last time I said I was bored! There's always too much to do!

Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?

Jessica: The American culture I have grown up in!

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Jessica: I live in the Bay Area in Northern California, and my favorite places to shop are A) Bombshell Boutique in Downtown Campbell B) Santana Row has an amazing selection of quality, high end merchandise, and C) WestField ValleyFair has all the good 'ole mainstream stuff.

3 fun facts about you:

Jessica: 1)I'm half Japanese, half Caucasian, 2)I tend to read magazines backwards and if I find an article I like, I'll start over from the beginning, and 3) my favorite fro-yo is Plain Tart!

What inspires you?

Jessica: Celebrities, bloggers, magazines, my sisters.

What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?

Jessica: I save on everything except: foundation, hair hot tools, boots, coats and insurance!

In your opinion, every woman should own:

Jessica: Properly fitting intimates!

A woman's most beautiful feature is her:

Jessica: Sincerity.

People would be surprised to know that I...

Jessica: I loathe mushrooms!!

Your most prized possession?

Jessica: My car... but clothing wise - it would be the white leather/wooden wedges from Cathy Jean my Yorkie tore up. I actually cried!

A typical Saturday morning involves:

Jessica: Waking up late, hanging out in the sun for some Vitamin D, reading a magazine and taking pictures!

What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?

Jessica: Yesterday I wore a hat I bought 10 years ago! I stopped liking it enough to wear it as a cover for my head when I painted a ceiling just two summers ago (lucky I didn't get anything on it). But now floppy hats are "in" again and it looked quite dashing with my outfit :)
