An Interview with Nadya of Glitter Dessert
Hello darlings! I'm Nadya Joy and I just started my blog Glitter Dessert on November 2011. I love how I get to communicate my personal style, fashion views, and just get lost in the fashion world for a while when I'm blogging! My ultimate dream is to be a Public Relations for a fashion company, editor-in-chief for a fashion magazine, fashion stylist, and a full-time fashion blogger of course! Currently I'm a high school student in my senior year, and I believe God has some amazing plans for my future.
How would you describe your personal style?
Nadya: Glamorous and feminine with an edgy touch. I like to wear feminine pieces combined with edgy ones. I go for more colorful and bold pieces!
What is your fantasy splurge?
Nadya: A pair of Christian Louboutin Swarovski encrusted heels and a Mary Katrantzou dress. Have you seen Katrantzou's collection? It's amazing and super creative.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Nadya: I'm from Surabaya, Indonesia. It's not the greatest city to shop in, but I can definitely spend hours shopping at Zara, Mango, and N.y.L.a.
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Nadya: My leopard blazer from Cotton On, my red Pour La Victoire pumps, and my cocktail rings!! I can't leave the house without wearing at least one ring.
What inspires you?
Nadya: Lookbook.nu, fashion blogs, http://paperloveandscissors.blogspot.com, and art illustrations! I can browse at blogs, especially fashion ones, endlessly. There are just such a variety of original and creative blogs. The great things is that these blogs are mostly created by everyday people.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Nadya: A pair of red pumps, a black blazer, and a classic Chanel handbag in nude.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Nadya: Ben and Jerry's Phish Food ice cream, dark chocolate, and nachos with extra extra cheese.
Your favorite place you have traveled to? Why?
Nadya: Singapore! I've been here countless times. It's easy and safe to go around the city, there's great shopping, and you're free to wear all kinds of clothing without people staring at you. Not to mention that there's a yummy variety of foods!
My favorite moment of the day:
Nadya: When I get to relax, blog, read the paper, or do whatever after a long and tiring day from school. In that moment I get to forget about the world for a while.
I am passionate about:
Nadya: My Savior Jesus Christ! Fashion, styling, sewing, DIY-ing and acting.
Last skill I learned:
Nadya: Editing photos. Because of my blog, I became interested in editing some photos of myself for my outfit posts and it turned out to be fun and I surely wanna' continue doing it.
What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?
Nadya: My mom's 20-year-old-something drawstring Chanel bag. It was one of my mom's bag collection which she gave to me. It sure has been loved and cared for a long time. Pretty sure will pass it on to my children!
