An Interview with Yehyah of The White List

My name's Yehyah, from The White List. I'm British and I started a blog in September last year about some of my favourite things, moments and everything else in between. I'm a movie buff and I'm also into photography (which was the reason behind starting a blog in the first place though my blog has taken a different route from that). I’m one of those people that genuinely believes a picture is worth a thousand words.

This interview was published on Wednesday, February 01, 2012.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Yehyah: Banker

How did you come up with your blog name?

Yehyah: I wanted something simple and it made sense to go with The White List as it was what I would have on my 'white list'.

How would you describe your personal style?

Yehyah: Eclectic. There isn't a style I wouldn't try out at least once.

Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?

Yehyah: My biggest influence is British Style in general. British Style is about trying different things & experimenting with fashion. It's more about the individual & it's nice to see individual twists on style & fashion. The biggest thing I take away from all that is about being individual in your choices

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Yehyah: London, UK. Favourite places to shop are Selfridges/Bond Street for High end clothes, Camden Market for Vintage and H&M for high street items

3 fun facts about you:

Yehyah: I wrote a book when I was 12, I love photography and I can make ice-cream from scratch

How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?

Yehyah: My biggest tip is to think more about the 'look' you're going for and less about the 'labels'. It is still very possible to look tacky draped head to toe in expensive items.

What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?

Yehyah: My Tag Heuer watch and a random hat I found in TK Maxx. It's easy to rock accessories everyday. :-)

4 things you can't live without:

Yehyah: There are a lot more than 4 things surely! lol! Okay, aside the obvious stuff I guess I'd say - chicken, my iphone, my macbook and vodka

People would be surprised to know that I...

Yehyah: used to be the head of a choir. (I can't even sing!)

What's your latest obsession?

Yehyah: I'd have to say my blog actually. I'm almost always thinking of new posts or ways to constantly improve it. It's a never ending game of self one-upsmanship. Haha!

What's the oldest thing you're wearing today? Is there a story behind it?

Yehyah: A t-shirt I got almost 8 years ago. No real story behind it. It's just one of those really durable shirts I bought on a random afternoon in London and can still fit into. :-)
