An Interview with Tereza of Drastic Plastic
Hello darlings, I'm Tereza and I'm the creator of Drastic Plastic. Being an artist, I'm fascinated by everything around me, especially people and the beautiful things they create, fashion and graphic design are some of them. For the fashion part visit my blog and from the graphic design visit my Project Typography blog.
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Tereza: For almost a year now I'm the Cultural Manager for a Foundation dedicated to young and talented musicians. I've worked to become what I am today for 7 years and that is pretty amazing. I get to change young lives and that is pretty cool.
How did you come up with your blog name?
Tereza: I'm a really big fan of kitsch images and what kitsch stands for. I don't do kitsch, I don't promote kitsch, it's just my guilty pleasure. Kitsch = plastic, kitsch = drastic ideas; at least that's what I think.
How would you describe your personal style?
Tereza: Everything new, everything bold. Disco style and the '80s music - imagine you are in a Justice or a Calvin Harris video, you will find me there too. I love to pop and I love to play with my outfits. Working as a freelancer I NEVER have to wear power suits and that is so much fun.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Tereza: I'm from Bucharest - Romania, that is not the same thing with Budapest haha. Yeah, people still keep making that mistake. My favorite places to shop are H&M, Zara and all the street wear shops - skater wear, Carhartt.
3 fun facts about you:
Tereza: 1. I can laugh for hours just because, no reason. 2. When I was in 6th grade a kicked a 16 year old boy, he hurt my friend. 3. When I'm really happy I start crying and I can't stop, so people around me start crying because they thing something is very wrong with me. But I'm happy, honestly.
What inspires you?
Tereza: People and tumblr hahaha. I mean it, if I'm bored I just brows tumblr and in one hour I some new illustration on my mind, or 10. It depends on the day.
Favorite item of clothing in your closet:
Tereza: My shoes, my SUPRA kicks. I love Supra, all of my sneakers are mail ordered from US and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Tereza: In the perfect world, I would have to say a sexy pair of Lubutions.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Tereza: Hmmm, next to my sneakers collection... "Pretty little liars" but I won't say anything else without my layer.
What's your favorite animal?
Tereza: Dog - Doberman. So far I had 4 dobermans, but not anymore. I hope that next year I will be able to afford a Chocolate Labrador.
What's your latest obsession?
Tereza: I would have to be the leather skirt from h&m and Nicholas K - spring collection 2012. The layers, the colors, the shoes - I need, I tell ya, I need everything from that collection.
Three things that are always in my fridge:
Tereza: Pesto, soy sauce and parmesan :).
