An Interview with Florence of Fantail Flo
Fantail Flo was a blog I started in hopes of writing and documenting my ever-changing life, a journey that may take me to all over the place and find beautiful pieces of the world. I'm inspired by fashion blogs and lifestyle blogs, and write about my outfits, food, places I've been, sights I see and the things that inspire and amaze me. I also love photo manipulation and use myself in many of the photos I play with, and I love to share the results with my awesome readers and followers. Do visit my blog and say hi if you have a moment!
How would you describe your personal style?
Florence: I'm a thrift store junkie, and I love vintage. My style is simple, classic yet I love patterns, colors and bright colorful things. I would say I'm more of a thrifty and flats-wearing girl rather than a heels-girl. Also sometimes, I'm into the Korean and Japanese fashion, so that mixes in well!
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Florence: I'm from Hong Kong, born and raised, but am currently abroad and around for a while. My top three places to shop in Hong Kong would definitely be the flea markets around my area, called Ladies Market, Zara and a chain of small boutiques in nearby shopping malls.
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Florence: My black ballet flats with bows on them, my oversized yellow knit sweater and striped shirt.
What is your favorite city to shop in?
Florence: I am currently loving London! Nothing beats the thrift and charity shops here, they have so many to choose from and they're big shops, so I can walk around all day and try on the clothes and admire the styles! Plus they're cheap and affordable.
What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?
Florence: I would love to save my money on a pair of decent boots. When the weather gets cold, boots are perfect because they are fashionable, looks sharp and clean, and keeps your feet warm. I splurge on tights! I own too many pairs, different colors, but they always end up ripped after a day out!
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Florence: A beige cream blouse that has a peter pan collar, blue skinny jeans that can act as cuffed jeans when you roll them up and an oversized white graphic tee.
How long does it take you to decide on an outfit to post?
Florence: That depends on which outfit! If I feel like it's something I am proud of, I'll post it up immediately. A great outfit means I'm in love with every piece I wear, and I can't wait to show it to all my lovely readers in my blog and lookbook.
Three things that are always in my fridge:
Florence: Cherry yogurt, fresh fruits and creamy iced latte to drink!
What's your favorite animal?
Florence: Dogs are my favourite animal. I have a little shetland sheepdog who is a great companion, a great friend and hangs around my room all the time. I love animals in general, but owning a dog was one of the best decision I made because it's lovely to have a furry friend around keeping you company.
People would be surprised to know that I...
Florence: own more pair of shoes than I do with tops! They are amazed at the amount of shoes I have in my home, I guess I should try to control my shopping, after all a girl can only wear one pair at a time!
Your most prized possession?
Florence: A photo book with messages from all my dear friends. We've all gone our separate ways for studies and life in general, and it's great to have a look at on days when I remember the good old fun days! I think true friendships are hard to find and memories are really precious.
Your favorite place you have traveled to? Why?
Florence: I love to travel to cold places, and would love to visit somewhere like Alaska one day. I heard that the weather is amazing, they have beautiful scenery and friendly people, and of course, my main reason for going there is to try their famous fish dishes!
