An Interview with Annie of Time Enough for Drums

Annie from Time Enough For Drums thrifts and has a great style blog. Check her out here: http://timeenoughfordrums.blogspot.com

This interview was published on Thursday, July 22, 2010.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Annie: I graduated from college in 2007 with a degree in Women's Studies and History, and then went directly to working for a labor union, where I stayed for three years. I love my job, but I recently decided I needed a change. I moved cross-country and I'm currently selling vintage on Etsy and blogging!

How would you describe your personal style?

Annie: This one always trips me up. It's so hard to pin it down exactly. I don't follow major labels or designers; I love thrift and vintage stores. So, if I had to use one word to describe my style, I would say thrifty. My style is thrifty.

Which label dominates your closet?

Annie: I have a lot of items from Tulle and Modcloth, most of which are a few years old, though! I made a New Years resolution this year to try and keep my clothes shopping to thrift stores as much as possible, so most of my garments are thrifted. Vintage, too!

What is your nerdiest hobby?

Annie: I'm currently collecting souvenir coffee mugs; I want one from each of the 50 US states. I think I only have about 10, currently! Other than that, I have a lot of nerdy guilty pleasures, which include watching old episodes of the X-Files and reality television.

What is your fantasy splurge?

Annie: Shoes! I'm dying for a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Splendid Sandals, but I can't bring myself to pay $120 for them! I'm waiting for sales!

Who are your favourite bloggers we don't know about?

Annie: I'm not sure if they are "unknown" but here goes... My absolute favorite blogger is Starr of A Thought Is The Blossom. I can't wait to meet her one day! I'm also really digging Zoe of Haiku Ambulance and Avalonne of the girl from hk, ldn & sf. If only I could dress more like these ladies!

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Annie: I recently relocated to the Washington, DC area, so my knowledge of this area is limited. I just arrived from Minneapolis, which I know inside and out. My favorite Twin Cities spots are Rewind Vintage in North Minneapolis, Blacklist Vintage in South Minneapolis, and Valu Thrift in East St. Paul.
