An Interview with Indiana of adored austin

Indiana is the beauty and brains behind adored austin, a style blog that discusses fashion exactly how she sees it. Check out her blog!

This interview was published on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Indiana: I used to be an actress- I did independent films, commercials, and children's theater, but now that I'm pregnant, I stay at home and eat cheeseburgers

How would you describe your personal style?

Indiana: If Claudia from the Babysitter's Club had a love child with a cowgirl ballerina, that'd be me.

Which label dominates your closet?

Indiana: Most of my clothes are thrifted and untagged, actually! I tend to shy away from designer duds.

What is your nerdiest hobby?

Indiana: I love Lord of the Rings so much that I wanted to name my kid Arwen until everyone made fun of me.

What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?

Indiana: Fit is everything. Cheap things can look expensive if the fit is spot on. Likewise, expensive things can look cheap if the fit is off. Don't buy things that don't fit. Also, invest in sewing lessons or buddy up to a tailor.

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Indiana: I live in Austin, Texas. I do a lot of online shopping, but three of my favorite brick and mortar shops are Buffalo Exchange, Savers, and Feathers Boutique (vintage).

Three things in your closet you cannot live without:

Indiana: My massive animal jewelry collection, my fluffy square dancer's petticoat that I usually wear as a skirt, and a vintage Gucci bag that I saved from my mom's throw away pile.

3 fun facts about you:

Indiana: 1. I have a miniature dachshund that loves to eat clothes and earplugs, 2. I've met two of "The Others" from LOST. 3. I seriously think I could live off snow cones in the summertime.
