An Interview with Kim of Brunette Blogging
Hi! I'm from a tiny country called Belgium and have a blog called Brunette Blogging. On my blog, I post personal outfits but also let you in on my thoughts about all things that are related to blogging. I love writing articles, I started my blog to give my career as a freelance journalist a jumpstart and I must say: it worked!
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
Kim: Probably bloggers. I feel inspired by them because you can see how they wear a certain piece in a lot of different ways, it's more real and relatable than any fashion magazine. My favorite stylish ladies are Emily (Cupcakes and Cashmere), Blair (Atlantic-Pacific) and Liz (Late Afternoon
What is your fantasy splurge?
Kim: Ooh, don't make me suffer because I'm gonna want the item after thinking about it. Probably a classic Chanel bag.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Kim: I'm from Belgium & my favorite places to shop here are Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent
3 fun facts about you:
Kim: 1. My worst (irrational and crazy)fear is that zombies will take over the world. 2. When I was a kid, one of my favorite TV-shows was Superman, mainly because I wanted to be a journalist like Lois Lane. 3. My friends & I performed as Spice Girls when we were 10. I was Scary Spice (don't ask me why)
What are you currently grooving to?
Kim: I'm listening to jazz this very moment.
Biggest style splurge and/or deal:
Kim: Probably my floral blazer. Bought this in a little boutique in New York somewhere and when I think about it, it was ridiculously expensive. I'm glad I still like it! Also my YSL ring and Michael Kors watch, but those were gifts :)
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Kim: Having a lot of money has almost nothing to with being stylish. So it's easy to look stylish without spending a lot of cash, just go to stores like Zara, H&M, Topshop and pick out some lovely items. Also see what vintage stores have to offer & look online for unique pieces.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Kim: at least one pair of amazing heels
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Kim: everything with stripes (timeless) and a black pair of vintage boots that I can't ever seem to throw away
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Kim: I have tons! But I'll only share one: reality tv à la The Real Housewives of NY, The Hills, The City,...
Do you have any comfort foods and what memories do you have associated with them?
Kim: Oh, I'm such a food addict so basically most food is comfort food in my opinion :) I guess fries and a hamburger take the number one spot here. No specific memories, just that they make me feel very happy when I'm eating :)
What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?
Kim: Have a garden party with all my friends where we can BBQ, enjoy the sun and have some sparkly drinks.
When I want to look cute, I put on...
Kim: a skirt.
