An Interview with Chloe of Walking In Heels
Fashion blogger and stylist from Boston who's only dreams are to make it in the big city and take the fashion industry by storm.. She is a former Teen Vogue fashion closet intern, Jeffrey Monteiro public-relations intern, Brian Reyes brand manager intern, and Anne Bowen (Bridal Fashion Week) event coordinator. With her confidence, determination, and experience she is well on her way. Say "hi" to Chloe at Walking In Heels!
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
Chloe: My greatest fashion influence has been the 70's and 80's era. Social and political changes were reflected in many areas of pop culture, and that included the clothing. From wide leg pants, daisy dukes, platforms, shoulder pads, baggy tops and fitted bottoms. Both eras left little to the imagination.
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Chloe: This is a really hard question because I cannot live without everything in my closet. OMG! Vintage Levi cut-offs, Over-sized vintage plaids (I have so many I lost count, they are perfect in the fall/winter as layering pieces and add a little spunk to a simple outfit), and my Jeffrey Campbell shoes.
3 fun facts about you:
Chloe: (1) When I was a child I wrote with both hands but I ended up being a righty. (2) I played Lacrosse for four years, my position was center or right attack wing. (3) When I go into any drugstore or supermarket I never take the first item from the shelf.
What is the worst job you've ever had?
Chloe: I've had my fair share of ups and downs, but thats retail for you! I try to make the best out of any situation and turn it into a learning experience so the next time around I make it known that I deserve more because of my qualifications.
What is your favorite city to shop in?
Chloe: My favorite city to shop in is New York. There are so many amazing thrift stores, flea markets, street vendors, and boutiques.
What are you currently grooving to?
Chloe: Currently I'm grooving to Best Coast, Florence & The Machine, Girl Talk, Passion Pit, Grizzly Bear, and Frank Ocean.
What inspires you?
Chloe: I'm inspired most by the presence of so many cultures surrounding me on a daily basis and the people that I meet from all walks of life.
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Chloe: I like to shop at thrift stores and consignment stores. My favorite places to shop are “Beacons Closet” in Brooklyn, “No Relations Vintage” in the East Village, “The Closet” and "Urban Renewal" in Boston, and any local flea markets.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Chloe: J'adore Dior perfume! It's an amazing strong and sweet scent that isn't overwhelming, perfect for any occasion.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chloe: Aside from eating obscene amounts of raw cookie dough, checking my bank account.
On the first day of hot weather, you'll find me:
Chloe: Sitting on the docks by the water drinking a nice cold beer soaking up the sun with my friends.
Three things that are always in my fridge:
Chloe: Leftovers, spinach & artichoke dip, and hummus.
