An Interview with Carissa of La Petit Poucet
La Petit Poucet is a blog that portrays the daily life and style of Carissa. Being a busy-bee in her college life, she only got the chance to kept up with her blog once in a month, twice if lucky enough, but it will never put her flames in the world of writing, blogging, photography and fashion off.
This blog brings the very bits of Carissa through words, photography and style. La Petite Poucet is the true self of the mere Starbucks-addict who enjoy the beauty of life in her own way and her own term.
How did you come up with your blog name?
Carissa: Hmm.. how do I even begin? First, I want to name my blog after folklore tale such as Hansel & Gretel kinda stuff. My friend then suggested to use La Petit Poucet, which she said, means Thumbelina & so I go with it... though I found out in the end, it's Tom Thumb. Well.. *shrug. Still works anyway :)
Who is/are your favorite shoe designer(s)?
Carissa: Who is the designer behind Jeffrey Campbell? Because their shoes ROCK! I'm a die hard fans.
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Carissa: I come from Jakarta, Indonesia and to be honest, I'm not much a shop-a-holic.. But, Zara, The Goods Dept and also Pull&Bear is definitely my favorite places to go, even for a slight window shopping ;)
What are you currently grooving to?
Carissa: Music? Hmm... lately I'm into Big Bang, a boy band from South Korea.
What are you wearing right now?
Carissa: Since I've just got back home, I'm still wearing my college attire: the usual oversize tee and denim shorts.
Are there any style icons that inspire you? Who and how?
Carissa: I do :) Edie Sedgewick and Audrey Hepburn is my lifetime heroine. I just love anything classy yet stylish, and they both got it perfectly! How can I not adore them?
What do you think is the hardest part about blogging?
Carissa: The consistency to keep on posting? I'd like to become a regular blogger, but too bad, I have way too many assignments and projects and it become hard for me to blog more. It's kinda sad actually.
What is the most rewarding part?
Carissa: That I know people still read my blog despite my absence :) I'm so grateful to those who kept on visiting my blog though I only post once a month. I love you guys :)
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Carissa: Honestly? I'm not much a woman. I'm more of a boyish type in the inside so I don't go with "must-have-item-of-the-year" kinda stuff. But in my opinion, every woman should own a Converse, no matter how many years you haven't been in touch with anything that is flat.
What 5 items do you always have in your purse?
Carissa: iPod is definitely a must-bring item for me. After that, it's my blackberry phone, chocolate wallet, and a mini notebook/agenda :) I guess that's it. Oh well, sometimes I do carry my USB around too.
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Carissa: Nikicio Basic Tank Top. I can't get enough of it! It's just too comfortable and versatile.
Favorite beauty product of all time? Why?
Carissa: .... this is hard. I'm not into beauty product and I barely wear any make up in my daily activities.
Do you have any comfort foods and what memories do you have associated with them?
Carissa: Not exactly a food but a drink, which is COFFEE :) I guess I have way too many memories associated with coffee, whatever it is, coffee always give me a certain kind of comfort which no other foods can do :)
If you had a time machine that could take you back in time, what year would you go to and why?
Carissa: I definitely want to go back to my childhood, I guess, it's very normal. I miss my childhood where all I do is just play around without piles of assignments waiting to be done.
