An Interview with Samantha of Could I Have That

Could I Have That is a fashion and lifestyle diary that celebrates everything from beauty and styling to travel and food. I post about the things I love and wish for (could i have that?) whether it's a sugary treat or a favorite jacket, I hope to inspire others with new findings and old favorites.

This interview was published on Friday, August 05, 2011.

What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?

Samantha: I handle the social media for two clothing boutiques and a contributing writer to Santa Barbara Magazine.

How would you describe your personal style?

Samantha: Easy, comfortable and sophisticated at times. I love my neutral colors and layering jewelry.

What is your nerdiest hobby?

Samantha: Photography. I have always loved taking pictures and learning more about lighting, lens and composition.

3 fun facts about you:

Samantha: I was a ballet dancer for 15 years, my red hair is au natural and I'm the youngest of four (all gingers as well!)

How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?

Samantha: I never spend a lot of money on things I don't think I'll have forever. A good handbag is something I splurge on because I know it will last and just get better with age. Thrift stores are a great place to have some fun when buying wardrobe elements that involve a little risk.

In your opinion, every woman should own:

Samantha: Black ballet flats, a classic blazer and cool shades.

One trend you would like to never see again is:

Samantha: Leggings or velour tracksuits... it's a toss up.

4 things you can't live without:

Samantha: A dainty gold necklace passed down from my mom, my Alexander Wang hobo, aquaphor and my Elizabeth and James Blazer.

Favorite beauty product of all time? Why?

Samantha: Laura Mercier under eye concealer because it gets the job done and never leaves my skin cakey or dry.

Your most worn piece of jewelry:

Samantha: My Jennifer Fisher bone cuff

What crazy activities do you dream of trying someday?

Samantha: Surfing. Most of my friends and boyfriend surf and sometimes I get the itch to try it out.

Three things that are always in my fridge:

Samantha: Almond butter, half and half and and my mario badescu eye gel (it's best when cold!)

Do you have any comfort foods and what memories do you have associated with them?

Samantha: Homemade chocolate chip cookies. When I was little it was my favorite thing to do with my older sisters.
