An Interview with Irina of Full Closet But Nothing To Wear
I think of myself as a girl who loves fashion. Who loves that magical transformation of material on a hanger into something that makes you twirl in front of a mirror and gives you confidence to think, I look great! Who believes that fashion is how we express our personalities, our way to show the world who we are. Most of all, who thinks that fashion is about having fun and using your imagination! My blog www.fullclosetbutnothingtowear.blogspot.com is about the age-old dilemma that every girl goes through- of having too many clothes but "nothing to wear. It's about finding solution for every day using the world of forever changing fashion. I want to share it with you!
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
Irina: My mom has always been my role model! She always managed to look beautiful and stylish while working full time and raising a big family!
Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?
Irina: I am form Ukraine, I moved to US about nine years ago. I live in Portland OR, we don't have that many stores to choose from...but I love Nordstrom, they have the best customer service! We also have few great vintage shops like Xtabay, Decades Vintage and Swoon.
Three things in your closet you cannot live without:
Irina: Cannot live without my Mulberry Alexa satchel, it's the best bag I own! Can't live without my shoes (all of them, I just can't single out one pair...)and my DvF wrap dress.
What is your favorite city to shop in?
Irina: I have to say NY, even though I only been there a few times, it has all the stores in the world and amazing vintage boutiques!
What is your favorite dessert?
Irina: French macarons, I can never get enough of them!
What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?
Irina: I try to save on everything, giving this day economy situation, I almost never pay full price, I try to wait for sales, but when I see something I absolutely LOVE I just get it, haven't regret it so far... Bag has to be expensive, when it's cheap it just happen to look cheap...
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Irina: At least one dress... I know women who don't own one, they only wear jeans and t-shirts. I want every woman to be feminine, nothing does it better than a dress!
One trend you would like to never see again is:
Irina: Uggs... I know they are extremely comfortable, but they just look ugly... in my opinion...
What 5 items do you always have in your purse?
Irina: My Canon camera, cellphone, lipstick, baby wipes and diapers... I have small children, you know...
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Irina: I love wearing dresses more than anything, if I were to choose only one item to wear for the rest of my life, it would be a dress. I also have a passion for all kinds of blazers.
Your most worn shoes:
Irina: I try to give all my shoes same amount of love...but the most worn pair would be my nude YSL tribute sandals, thoe go with absolutely everything. Also my Reebok Easytone sneakers, I run in those every single day for about an hour...
Your most worn piece of jewelry:
Irina: My wedding ring.
