An Interview with Della of Della Grace's Life
I'm Della Grace from Della Grace's Life, a personal style blog that involves goats, community college, and fashion. Most people don't think that those three things mix, but they do! I love thrift shopping, Georgette Heyer novels, and playing with my camera. I enjoy shocking my small community college with some of my outfits - the comments are hilarious!
How would you describe your personal style?
Della: Classic with a twist of funky and a shake of vintage. I love layering jewelry, anything 70's, and unique heels. Sadly, I've got the worst ankles so heels have been out of the picture lately. I'm a huge thrifter, and I love wearing 100% thrifted outfits. I'm not defined by one word though!
What is your nerdiest hobby?
Della: Showing dairy goats! It's true, I'm a born 4-H'er. I have a small herd of miniature dairy goats, 9 in all. During the summer I always do several posts on my goat shows where I have to wear all white!
3 fun facts about you:
Della: 1. I was homeschooled until two years ago when I started community college.(I have one full time year left and then on to a four year institute!) 2. Total t.v. junkie, I'll basically watch anything. 3. I'm a published author- I wrote a story about Pearl Harbor where I lived as a kid.
Favorite item of clothing in your closet:
Della: Ooh, I think it might have to be either my red pencil skirt or raspberry pumps. I love color and have been trying to use it more boldy in my wardrobe lately. I used to wear just neutrals, but now I can't get enough color. Another blogger and I even did a color challenge a few weeks ago!
Biggest style splurge and/or deal:
Della: A pair of oxfords from Fossil, they set me back $100, but I spent some prize money from a goat show. They were also my reward for getting all A's on my midterms. I don't regret that purchase, I wore them several times a week all fall/winter!
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Della: Thrift stores, clearance racks, and fast fashion stores (F21,ect.) Though, I do have issues with F21 things never fitting le curves. Haven't they heard of girls with hips? When thrifting, always look in other size sections, I've found some great things that were marked vintage "large".
4 favorite fashion accessories:
Della: 1. Fossil Aviators 2. Huge gold hoops 3. Huge red seed bead necklace 4. Scarf from Russia
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Della: Skirts. Khaki, denim, and bright pencil skirts. I'm constantly rotating clothing items so none of them feel left out.
Your most worn shoes:
Della: It's a three way tie between my Fossil Oxfords, raspberry heels, and black aerosol sandals. The sandals are way to comfortable and perfect for a sprained ankle. (Which I always seem to have during the summer, blame running.)
If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?
Della: I've got several! To be able to do math with no issue whatsoever, it kills me. A new barn for my goats. And of course, a dressing room. Now if only I could convince my parents of my brilliant ideas.
Do you have a favorite YouTube video?
Della: Key of Awesome parody of Adele's Rolling in the Deep. Hysterical! I'm a sucker for parodies. I spend way to much time on Youtube that I should spend studying.
