An Interview with Arushi of BOHEMIAN LIKE YOU

My name is Arushi Khosla and I'm a self professed (and otherwise) style blogger, fashion writer and on and off PR intern from New Delhi, India on my way to New York. My blog, BOHEMIAN LIKE YOU, is a sort of style diary of what I'm wearing, eating, where I'm going and what I'm into mixed in with the occasional review and opinion piece plus interviews. I think Tom Ford owns Tom Hanks' ass and some of my favorite designers include Dries Van Noten, Olivier Theyskens, Rick Owens, Raphael Young, Bibhu Mohapatra, Sarah Burton, Jack & Lazaro, the Mulleavy sisters, Prabal Gurung, etc.

This interview was published on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

How would you describe your personal style?

Arushi: I've been asked this question multiple times and to date, I don't really have a concrete answer. My style isn't all that specific. It's a mix of boho meets rocker chic meets minimalistic. Its all dependent on my mood, what I'm into, as cliched as that sounds.

Where are you from and what are your top three favorite places to shop in your city?

Arushi: I'm from New Delhi, India. Two of my favorite places to shop are Sarojini Nagar and Janpath markets that are basically like culminations of thrift and vintage stores. There's a lot of ethnic quintessentially Indian stuff and I love Hauz Khas Village's boutiques.

What label(s)/store(s) do you favor?

Arushi: My favorite designers are Rick Owens, Olivier Theyskens, Jack and Lazaro, the Mulleavy sisters, Prabal Gurung, Bibhu Mohapatra, etc. I love stores/online stores like Theory, Revolve Clothing, Solestruck, ASOS, etc.

3 fun facts about you:

Arushi: I can't use chop sticks, my hair is naturally super curly and I almost never wear flats.

What is your favorite dessert?

Arushi: Cupcakes!

Favorite item of clothing in your closet:

Arushi: My shoes.

What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?

Arushi: I tend to spend more on accessories like shoes and bags where quality REALLY matters as well as some leathers and suedes. Otherwise, it's better to go cheap chic unless you have a ton of money.

In your opinion, every woman should own:

Arushi: A lace dress, super high platforms and a sharp blazer.

A woman's most beautiful feature is her:

Arushi: Eyes.

One trend you would like to never see again is:

Arushi: It's a tie between flatforms and clogs (I'm one of the VERY few bloggers who detests them with a passion).

Your most worn piece of jewelry:

Arushi: Necklaces of 495DM.

What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?

Arushi: I'm visiting New York this summer for about a month to intern in fashion PR!

Do you have a favorite YouTube video?

Arushi: I watch WAY too many youtube videos. My favorite channel is Josh Sundquist's. He's amazing.
