An Interview with Meggy of Chasing Davies
I am like a ping pong ball bouncing between my loves for fashion and home decor. Either way, I'll try anything at least once - mixing clashing colors in an outfit or trying some DIY home piece. I love good deals, unique ideas and most of all, sharing, connecting and being inspired. Come visit my blog at Chasing Davies!
What do you do when you're not blogging? What is your job?
Meggy: I work in Advertising, specializing in digital & social media.
How would you describe your personal style?
Meggy: Trial and Error - I'll try anything that catches my attention. If I like two colors, I'll throw them together and see how I feel throughout the day before deciding if I like it our not. I hope I come off as creative.
What would be the one fashion tip you would give to a friend?
Meggy: To go outside your comfort zone - just try it!
3 fun facts about you:
Meggy: I think of myself as a multitasking queen! I love so many things & have tons of hobbies - somehow I find time for it all.
Biggest style splurge and/or deal:
Meggy: I don't have many splurges in fashion - my house is my biggest splurge! But I love deals. I have had many great finds - a skirt that was under $10 and I've worn easily 20 times, talk about a low CPW (cost-per-wear).
How are you able to stay fashionable without spending a lot of $$? What are your tips and where do you shop?
Meggy: I look online to get a lay of the land and compare prices before ever buying on a whim. I also look deeply at my closet to really determine what I have and what I'm lacking. I keep the tags on until I actually wear a new item just in case I end up not being so in love.
What types of items do you like to save $ on and what do you splurge on?
Meggy: Pants and well-fitting dresses are things I'll spend a bit more money on for good fit. J.Crew is one of my favorite places because of their style of clothing and cuts just work for my body. I still stalk their sale sections and hardly buy full-price, though.
In your opinion, every woman should own:
Meggy: Button downs, bright skirts, stylish - yet comfortable flats (being able to walk has become more important to me than longer legs) and things they love so much it makes them feel better wearing!
What 5 items do you always have in your purse?
Meggy: dSLR camera, little pouch of girl stuff (mascara, lip gloss, lip stick, concealer, feminine products, etc), phone, phone charger (I use it so much you never know when it will die), and my wallet.
What are key pieces from your wardrobe that you find yourself wearing over and over?
Meggy: Skirts! I could wear skirts everyday. Thin belts - they can really pull an outfit together/make it more interesting. Flats - I still love my pretty heels, but have been wearing flats more and more, even out on the weekends - gasp!
How long does it take you to decide on an outfit to post?
Meggy: I post most outfits I wear, even when the got wrong. The only ones I don't post are when I'm too busy to get a pic, or it's a major casual day (aka not fun).
