I've been seeing this braided hairdo style on the runways a lot and I'm wondering if any of you would try it for yourselves.

It's a little country chic, a littl german girl, a little Frida Kahlo.

It looks difficult to do!

It looks so cute but I could not pull it off. The one in the second photo is more appealing because it is less constructed - much more natural.

Agreed, Mary Kate Olsen rocked it best. I also feel like you'd need extra long hair to rock this hairdo. Unless of course you use extensions or a fake braid!

Some of the braids look extension-like...I'm sure you could find one to wrap around your own hair so you wouldnt have to go through the hassle.:)Smile

I wonder if there are extensions that come pre-braided? I've never had had to buy extensions I've never gone shopping for them before!

Yeh, I think there are, I have seen the small synthetic ones around at the stores, but not really thick, but I think celebs might use them, they probably have someone make them.

Sienna MIller's is pretty too but very renaissance-festival-ly at the same time. I feel like it's the kind of hairdo that would look like a disaster if attempted at home, but done professionally looks beautiful

Look who was spotted just recently wearing this braid around the head hairstyle. Katie Holmes!

Okay I just tried like ksvensen said and yes, you don't really need super long hair for this haistyle. One trick I had to do though was to already start braiding my hair over my head so that it'd be formed the way I want to already. I tried braiding it into a pigtail first but it made this weird lump when I placed the pigtail over my head.

Just a little tip! :)

Oh I do this dutch braid all the time! Not as crazy as the pictures above, a little more like Mary-Kate's style. I usually braid one braid and wrap it to the other side of my head on the top, towards the crown area. Pin it down with bobby pins and it's done :) Then I either make a side bun or just leave my hair down. Nothing extreme.

I think I'm becoming a little obsessed with this hairstyle. Just saw pictures of Jessica Alba sporting it and I just can't get enough!

Will be wearing this 'do 'til I get tired of it.

I love braided hair like that. Reminds me of a modern Gretel. It's kind of tough to do it on myself though, since my hair is pretty long. I'll keep practicing ;)

I definitely like the way Mary-Kate is wearing it much better than the others. Its doesn’t look so old school country with it being all messy like that. I can see that hair style totally going with a lot of the vintage dresses I sell in my shop. Check it out!
