Do you think there’s a place in Smashion for fashion for men? I think almost all articles and market items are for women. I wonder if Smashion should allow male fashion to be part of the website. It would make Smashion a little more unique, yes?

should smashion have male fashion too?

Definitely! I'm all up for guys coming into Smashion. We need it for more diversity.

I think most guys are intimidated when you say "fashion". A lot of them wouldn't want to give the impression that they're batting for the same team (nothing bad about that, but I know a lot of my guy friends are like that). If they had their own way, men's fashion will be sports jerseys, blue jeans and sneakers until they grow old. :p

That isn't to say that guys don't want to look good right? They're probably just clueless.

I agree as well, but how do you think the smashion site would get on the men's radar?!?

I don't know many guys that search websites for tips and blogs about fashion. Maybe if everyone told their guy friends to join!?

Yes definitely, we should have more threads about men's fashion.

Yeah I think it would be hard for a male to be secure enough to sit on a fashion site. However, I think it would be great for both Smashion and men to get involved with eachother more.

My guy friends don’t admit to surfing the web for fashion, but they definitely do it. They watch tv and get inspired by nice clothes and I’m sure that if they could surf online, although secretly, they would do it. I know my friends do…

I definitely think that there should be mens fashion on Smashion. The more consumerist our society has become over the years more and more men are more aware of what they wear. The internet is more popular than ever before & both genders of all ages are surfing the web on a very regular basis. Gay men are no longer the only men that care about fashion. There is now Metro-sexual men (i.e. straight males who care about their appearance.) who LOVE to shop. There are some who dont "Love" to shop, but they still care to dress up to fashionable standards (or to just "look good", like most everyone else). You also have to consider that, maybe, some men dont want to be seen taking such an interest in what they wear. So, what better way than to shop online where no one can know how more or less picky you are about your clothing. In this day and age, I would have to say its a little silly to think that only one gender shops online for anything particular.

We certainly allow and do have men's fashion items on Smashion.  It just happened the site attracted a largely female following, esp. in the forums, just like other fashion discussion boards. Would love to have both female and male fashionistas here :-)

Hmm... I'd love to hear more from guys who have something to share about their fashion tastes and adventures. Maybe I can grab my guy friends to give this a try. :)

I keep a few fashion blogs and I do get comments from men every now and then about featuring some men's version of the women's clothes we write about. They're not as many as the women, but the fashion-savvy men are out there! It'd be nice if Smashion catered to them too but honestly, I wouldn't know how to get them on here. Maybe a men's fashion part of the forum could be a start?

Yes, of course there's a huge amount of space for more men in Smashion!  The only problem with men is they don't like saying what they mean in the hopes of  not sounding 'too soft'? I love a man with a feminine side. But hey, who says talking about fashion is a girl thing anyway? I think taking the time to actually sit down and talk about clothes are really not their thing. MOst men, anyway. However, it would be interesting to find a guy blogging a lot in here. Dont you agree , girls?

Just a thought: Smashion is a site for selling gently used clothing and when I think of the men in my life, absolutely NONE of them have ever cleaned out their closets in their entire lives! Not once, not a single time, zero. So IMO, that's another reason why it would be difficult to get the men here on Smashion. :P

Wait a minute, there’s this guy I know who actually organizes his closet! And nope, he’s not gay. He does spring cleaning every year and gives away his clothes (posting them on stores such as Smashion is just too much work for him – yes, see? He’s definitely straight.)

Metrosexual. I love guys who are metrosexual. I know lots of straight guys who are more fashion conscious than I am. Vainer than me, more hard-to-please than I am, takes longer time in the shower than me--you won't believe it. I just  don't think there's lots of guys who like to  blog and talk about themselves. If you find one, a straight guy for that matter, they don't do it in places where there's lots of girls.
