I think they're kind of ugly to be honest!!!
I just don't see the appeal yet I see them everywhere

Maybe it’s because it’s a status symbol, kinda… there are many bags with hefty price tags that look ugly but have monograms on them. People use them because they are status symbols. Or maybe I’m wrong… I wonder what others think. :)

longchamps aren't terribly expensive though when you're talking designer. you could buy a diesel bag for the same price or a coach for maybe 50-100 dollars more. I won't wear something if I don't like it no matter how expensive it is

I don't know. Today, anything with a price tag attached is an INVESTMENT. No matter what name it says on the label, if I don't really LIKE it, I won't use it, therefor it is a waste of my dollars. And honestly, sometimes I laugh that I am lucky I'm not wealthy because there are certain "very haute" fashions that I wouldn't be caught dead in.

I have one and LOVE it. A large all black that I use as an everyday bag. I think they're class and at the same time durable. I throw everything (school books, clothes, shopping bags) in it and I'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart on me yet.

I have one too and i love it, not so much because of how it looks but because I find good use for it when I'm at the beach or when I go to school and it's raining or when I go shopping-instead of using the usual green bag.

i'm not a big fan, but to each his own! i'm more of a colorful bag kind of person. i don't think i'd look good with a longchamp. but i like big bags and big totes. still, i go for a lot of color or texture!

I like big totes but Longchamps aren't for me. There's a certain shape and style I look for, whether or not Longchamps are fashionable or not will be a matter of argument. but there's a specific look I want and it's not Longchamp bags. Sorry...

I have a Le Sport Sac still brand new in the original packaging listed for sale if you're interested. It's colorful and a large tote. It's called the compulsive shopper. You should take a look.

The best thing about Longchamps is that they are waterproof! I live in Boston, so I need a bag I can carry around that won't get soaked in bad weather. My computer has been dry as bone even super rainy days with this purse!

Then Longchamp bags have something that other bags don’t have: functionality. If they’re water proof, then they are quite useful, coupled with the fact that you can bring your entire house with you in that bag. Hehe :)

coach bags are also waterproof. even the non-leather coach bags are made out of water resistant material.
I think pretty much any designer bag is safe from the rain, they're high quality

hm i was looking for a bag just a while ago and i noticed that longchamp bags actually have other designs that look much better than their usual ones. i don't like the usual designs, so if i were to buy a longchamp, i'll just go for the other designs that are to my liking!

Here are examples of Longchamp bags that actually look a little nicer than the version in question in this thread. These bags look a little more sophistaicated, with clean lines. I actually like them:

At first I hated them! My sister and mom had them and I thought they were overpriced and ugly. But longchamps has a couple really big sales, that's when my mom and sister got theirs, and they were really reasonably priced. They also bought me one. I have to say now I LOVE it. It is the perfect size, waterproof, and very very durable. It's a great investment because I've put mine through a lot in two years and it still looks new!
