A dress that's well designed and made will show of your body to it's best advantage. The color of your outfit also says a lot. While we tend to pick clothes with colors that fit us, did you know that it could also affect your mood as well as send out a message or an aura to other people?

Here's a quick list of the most common colors and what they mean.

Red - warm color. Considered as a color of joy and prosperity by the Chinese. Wear it if you want to have more energy and confidence.

Yellow - also a warm color, and considered the color of creativity and intellectual energy, as well as for clarity and awareness. Wear it when making decisions, or if you feel like you need to relax.

Blue is considered a cool color and considered to be the color of inspiration and sincerity. It's also said to be a calming color, which is good to wear if you want something to counteract agitation.

I'll add more colors a little later. Right now, I'm wearing red for confidence!

Here's a few more colors:

Green - the color that represents balance, nature and life. It's a great color for those who want a balanced life, or feel the need for change.

Pink - is for love and tenderness. It's considered as a gentle color. Wearing it can help calm your feelings, lessen disquiet and brings about relaxation.

Brown - usually for solidity, groundness. Because it's made up of various other colors, it blends easily. It also symbolizes a connection to the earth.

That's only a few colors. What's your favorite?

I love  the design of the yellow dress, but I wouldn't say no to that red cheong-sam either! Unfortunately, I don't think it's the type of dress that fits my body type. The yellow one though, would work. :)

I like the color blue. I like most cool and relaxing colors, ones that won't make me stand out. But I do like to spruce things  up a bit with the color red or pink every now and then.

I don't know about affecting my mood, but I do know that I choose what colors to wear based on how good they look against my skin tone!

But to stay on topic, I've been drawn to a lot of yellows lately. On the outside I think it makes me feel happy, but based on this post, it see that helps with creativity and intellectual energy! I guess that's why I've been drawing and painting a lot lately! Laughing

I love blue, and I’ve always assumed that I have a lot of blue dresses and tops. But after reading this post, I looked at my closet and voila, no blue dress! It seems that I’ve always assumed that I have too many blue clothes that I actually stopped buying them. anyway, I like yellow and red. But red tends to give too strong an impression, so I try to avoid it when meeting new people. :)

That's actually one thing I consider when picking colors. Red, for instance. While it is said to attract power and give confidence, it actually gives me a pale and rather sickly skin tone. Same with orange and any color within the red/orange/yellow spectrum, hence I usually stick to blue or green.

Sometimes I do dress on my mood. Or actually, my hair! Yes, my hair dictates what I wear most of the time. When I’m having a good hair day, I can wear anything. Some clothes don’t look too flattering when my hair is too flat. Is that weird? in terms of colors, i like lively, bold colors more!
