I'm not much into brand names, but I came across the Yves Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2011 Collection and I have got to say that it's rare that I like runway collections. I usually think they're over the top, but I love this line because it's got a lot of clean lines giving it an overall crisp look. Perhaps some may come off to austere, but it's something that I won't be afraid to wear off the runway.

Here's my top five choices:

Love this Chinese inspired, yet very military-ish look

The skirt's fabulous!

I love how this one shows a bit of skin compared to the others

The color is brighter than the other blacks. It will go well with the fall hues

I have to agree... this line from YSL is a very wearable line that comes off the runway. I'll have to look at the other pieces of this line as well!

I agree also that these looks can work on and off the runway, but why does it all have to be so dark and harsh!

You can spice things up with a nice accessory, like maybe a bright bag, a colorful scarf or sparkly jewelry. Although for me, everything is ok as it is. I guess I like my clothes a bit monotonous sometimes hehe. Works great for the office too.

The outfits do look nice, but I wouldn’t wear them as is. I think I’d take them apart and make them a little funkier so that I don’t end up looking like Anna Wintour! Yes she’s a sharp dresser, she’s a fashion editor and all, but I want to look, um, like I can walk the streets and still belong. Hehe.

The outfits look a little pretentious if I wear them to work. I’ll feel like I’m trying too hard to be a high brow office girl. But perhaps I can make it a little more fun by using more whites and greys with the outfits.

Love all of these. I think they're "dark and harsh" because they're pre-fall. :)

Anyway, it's still too early for all this pre-fall stuff - we haven't even gotten to spring yet! Let's focus on the brights, the bolds and the skin-baring first!

I'd take pieces of each dress and match it with something to lessen the severity of how they look. One of the reasons why I like this is because everything is so wearable off the runway, unlike most clothes where you know it won't work anywhere except in a costume party. :p
