Weeks ago I posted a photo of Nicole Richie wearing stockings under her Winter Kate Denim Hotpants. What do you guys think about it? Would you guys wear this?

I think it’s alright. But if it’s too warm, I don’t think I’d wear the stocking or leggings under the shorts. It depends on the type and color of both the leggings and the hot pants, I guess. They shouldn’t clash too much, at least for me. :)

i've actually already worn this! i have sheer pink stockings that make my legs look slightly pink. i wore it with cutoff denims to my dance rehearsals and it looked nice to me! i tried to tone it down by wearing a loose black shirt and my old dancing shoes. hehe!

I don’t wear stockings under shorts. I tend to keep my stockings with my officewear. i wear stocking with my business suits and skirts. i have yet to see myself wearing them under shorts. maybe i'm not too comfortable with the idea of having to wear heels with the shorts. i'd be too uncomfortable... ^_^

I love the look of black stockings with jean shorts and heels. If you're someone who gets cold easily, I think it's a perfect solution for a fashionable, but cool night. It also looks very classy.

Wow Jane. I can definitely imagine your look! So you're a dancer. I've seen a couple of local dancers wearing shorts over their stockings. Well I'm not certain if those are stockings. I think they're tights. They say tights are more comfortable than stockings/leggings and opaque tights are better underneath shorts.
There are also celebrities pulling off that look and it's also becoming a trend for fall.

I'm sorry guys but i dont like the idea of stockings under Hot pants (shorts). It completely takes the look away from showing some skin.

I like the look under heavy winter fabrics like tweed (love the charcoal colored ones shown in your post). Otherwise, I don't think I would do it.

I don't like this look with a strong contrast betweens tights and shorts i.e. black shorts and black tights look nice, but light denim shorts with black tights don't work IMO. Everything in between is alright I guess.

Sure! I do it all the time. Sometimes I even layer stockings with socks when it gets too cold.

Well i think it depends all three factors shorts, tights and shoes need to work in order for this to look good the most opaque black tights with a nice pair of tailored looking shorts or denim shorts and ballet flats usually looks fine.

I like the looks of those pics you've posted! I can see that this kind of fashion is making its way to women who love shorts but aren't keen on showing their legs!
