Love these fashion illustrations. I used to do these when I was younger and I kind of miss it. So beautiful and so inspiring! All from here. You can also view larger sizes of the images at this source. Do any of you know some sites where you can check out fashion illustrations?

I love how fashion illustrations nowadays are artwork themselves. Before they just looked like sketches. |

These are actual artwork I think, from deviantart artists. If it's for actual production, I don't think designers have the time to spend on sketching their design in intricate detail. Oftentimes, the final piece looks different from the sketch because of fit issues, change in materials, difference in cut/pattern and etc. So it makes more sense to just do a rough sketch. Just mt humble opinion! |

Just mt humble opinion! I think desgners do have time to sketch in detail, but that would probably depend on the artist rather than it being a standard operating procedure. Yes, the designs change during the production, but it's still going to be based on the designer's original concept, so each detail needs to be conceptualized from the start and probably changed later on. Anyway, on of my favorite designers and illustrators is Sophie Griotto. I'm not quite sure if she's a fashion designer, but her illustrations are of women wearing fashionable clothing. The drawings in themselves are so lovely, I'd like to have them as prints. |

It's nice to see these kinds of designs, I remember doing some back then when I am bored at school, haha. Nowadays there are designs like that in the lifestyle section of the newspaper, or even in bridal magazines :) |

I wished I could draw fashion clothes. I can't even draw the human form, maybe that is what is hampering me. I just don't know how. When I learn the proportion maybe then I can have more courage to do so. |

Same here. I wish I am gifted with drawing, or even sketching. I have a lot of fashion ideas and design concepts in my mind that I would like to be seen on paper so that it can be done or sewn for real. |

Thanks for the link bailey, Sophie Griotto's artwork is amazing! Kinda reminds of that other Spanish artist's work (his/her name escapes me now) but Sophie G.'s work is more intricate! Love it. Hope someone here on Smashion can share their own fashion illustrations. :) |

These are terrific drawings. I hold a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Texas; during my first two years of study, I was privileged to have as a fellow student a 76 year old woman who had worked as a fashion designer for Vogue in New York when she was young. Everything she drew had that same lightness of hand and concision as typifies fashion design. She would draw her young granddaughter, capturing every activity in such an endearing way - the style was simplistic yet full of energy and a sense of importance. I wish I had some of her artwork today.

Thought I'd share some more fashion illustrations. These aren't from deviantart artists anymore but rather stuff that I just found over the web. They're still beautiful nevertheless!
